Singapore Internship Programme (SIP): Empowering WSC Graduates for Global Success

In March 2025, 24 graduates from the World Skill Center (WSC), Odisha, embarked on a six-month internship in Singapore, marking an exciting milestone in their careers. This internship provides them with the unique opportunity to gain hands-on training in fields such as Mechanical & Electrical Services, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology and Vertical Transportation.

During their time in Singapore, the interns will work with leading companies, including Goodwood Park Hotel, YTL PowerSeraya, SBS Transit Rail, Four Seasons Hotels, and Certis Technology. This experience will not only enhance their technical skills but also offer valuable exposure to industry practices, giving them a competitive edge as they launch their professional careers.

Before starting their internships, the students were warmly welcomed at ITE Headquarters, where ITE Education Services (ITEES) hosted a reception to kick off their journey. This initiative is part of the Singapore Internship Programme (SIP), launched by ITEES in 2022, which offers top WSC graduates valuable industry exposure. Over five years, the programme aims to help 216 graduates develop the skills and experience needed to succeed in today’s competitive global workforce.

Since its launch, three cohorts have successfully completed their internships, gaining hands-on experience in Singapore’s leading companies. This initiative is made possible through the support of the Odisha Skill Development Authority (India), the Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore) and Amansa Capital Pte. Ltd. Their contributions ensure that WSC graduates are equipped with the skills and global exposure needed to thrive in today’s job market.
