Capability Development Programme for Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MLSW)



This project was implemented to strengthen the capability of the hospitality workforce in Housekeeping Operations, Front Office Operations and Restaurant Operations in Lao PDR.

About the project

Project Scope: The project consisted of 3 runs of the programmes aimed to enhance the skills competency in the following areas:

  • Run 1 on Housekeeping Operations (HSO)
  • Run 2 on Front Office Operations (FOO)
  • Run 3 on Restaurant Operations (RSO)

Each run comprised of 1 week of Customer Service (CS) training in Lao PDR and 2 weeks of practice-oriented training in Singapore.

Impact & Outcome:

  • Run 1 was conducted in Dec 2017. A total of 20 Master Trainers were trained in various aspects of Customer Service and Housekeeping Operations.
  • Run 2 was conducted in Jun/Jul 2018 for 19 Master Trainers in the area of Front Office Operations.
  • Run 3 was held in Mar 2019 where 20 participants were being taught the new skills in Customer Service and Restaurant Operations.
