Establishment of Centre of Excellence for Tourism Training in Udaipur, Rajasthan

The objective of this project was to establish a Centre of Excellence for Tourism Training within a Government ITI in Udaipur to meet the demand of skilled manpower for the tourism and hospitality industry in Udaipur’s growing economy.

About the project

Project Scope: The Centre of Excellence for Tourism Training (CETT) offers up to 6 tourism and hospitality training courses, to train up to 480 students annually. The following courses are housed in a new building developed within the existing premises of the Government ITI Udaipur, and an existing building to be refurbished.

  • Travel and Tourism Services
  • Retail Services
  • Hospitality Operations (Front Office)
  • Hospitality Operations (Housekeeping)
  • Food and Beverages Services
  • Western Culinary Arts

To establish the CETT, ITEES provided the following consultancy/training services:

  1. Advisory on Infrastructural Development
  2. Advisory on Workshop Setup and Equipment Procurement
  3. Conduct of Campus Planning and Development Workshop
  4. Conduct of Curriculum Planning and Development Workshop
  5. Advisory on Development of Academic Structure
  6. Advisory on Installation and Commissioning of Workshops
  7. Conduct of Leadership and Management Training Programme
  8. Conduct of TVET Pedagogy Programme
  9. Advisory on Development of Training Materials

Impact & Outcome: The CETT was officially launched by the then Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje Scindia, in the presence of Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Minister for Education, Mr Ong Ye Kung, on 5 Oct 2016. In Mar 2019, ITEES successfully completed the CETT project.

This is a G-to-G collaboration between India and Singapore.
