Nasarawa State's Governor engaged ITEES to conduct a Feasibility Study and acquire training equipment from Singapore for upgrading Lafia's Skill Acquisition Centre. The focus areas were Plumbing, Sanitary Systems, Aircon Maintenance, and InfoComm Technologies.

About the project

Project Scope: Following the visit by the Governor of Nasarawa State of Nigeria to Singapore, ITEES was commissioned to conduct a Feasibility Study in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State in Nov 2012, in line with the Governor’s plan to upgrade its Skill Acquisition Centre.  After the visit to Lafia, ITEES recommended the centre to start with upgrading in the areas of Plumbing and Sanitary System, Air-Con Maintenance, and InfoComm Technologies.  The Governor decided to start with upgrading the centre’s training facilities and requested ITEES to assist in the procurement of training equipment from Singapore.

Impact & Outcome:

  1. The recommendation report by ITEES included Leadership development, Capability development, Curriculum Development and Infrastructure development.
  2. ITEES provided procurement services in Singapore and sourced for the training equipment in Singapore through Public Tendering exercises.
  3. In Oct 2016, ITEES team were onsite in Nigeria to support Nasarawa government in inspecting the equipment that were delivered to Lafia.

In the last quarter of 2019, the Nasarawa government approached ITEES to revive the project but further discussions were stalled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
