About the project

Project Scope:  The Malaysian Investment Development Authority and ITEES collaborated on a Technical Skills Upgrading Programme (TSUP) to support skilled manpower needs in the machining industry in 2017. A 2-week training programme was carried out to enhance the technical competence of Master Trainers from institutions in Johor. The TSUP aimed to equip the Master Trainers with the necessary knowledge and skills on CAD/CAM programming and operation of the CNC multi-axis turn/mill machines. It was conducted in Singapore from 20 to 31 Mar 2017.

Impact & Outcome: The programme benefitted 23 Master Trainers from 7 TVET institutions in Johor by enhancing their technical competence in teaching machining courses. Subsequently, the Master Trainers imparted their knowledge and skills to another 70 fellow trainers through a series of Post-training Sharing Workshops.
