This project strengthened the Instructional Skills of TVET trainers from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MLVT). The modules covered included competence-based instructional design, student-centered learning tasks, effective presentation and digital teaching aids, and reflective self-assessment.
About the project
Project Scope: ITEES conducted 3 runs of TVET pedagogy programmes for 60 MLVT trainers from 2011 to 2022. There were 2 stages in each run. In the first stage, the training was conducted in Phnom Penh for 3 weeks. In the second stage, MLVT’s trainers came to Singapore for 2 weeks of training. These were the modules that they learnt:
- Perform whole task approach to competence based instructional design
- Design student-centered learning task & activities
- Design and develop effective instructional presentation and digital teaching aids
- Promoting reflective self and peer assessment
Impact & Outcome: A total of 60 Master Trainers were trained by ITEES. The Master Trainers later on shared the knowledge learnt with another 466 trainers through a series of post-training sharing workshops conducted in Cambodia.
