Capacity Building in TVET Pedagogy for Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training

This project strengthened the Instructional Skills of TVET trainers from the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training (MLVT). The modules covered included competence-based instructional design, student-centered learning tasks, effective presentation and digital teaching aids, and reflective self-assessment.

About the project

Project Scope: ITEES conducted 3 runs of TVET pedagogy programmes for 60 MLVT trainers from 2011 to 2022. There were 2 stages in each run. In the first stage, the training was conducted in Phnom Penh for 3 weeks. In the second stage, MLVT’s trainers came to Singapore for 2 weeks of training. These were the modules that they learnt:

  1. Perform whole task approach to competence based instructional design
  2. Design student-centered learning task & activities
  3. Design and develop effective instructional presentation and digital teaching aids
  4. Promoting reflective self and peer assessment

Impact & Outcome: A total of 60 Master Trainers were trained by ITEES. The Master Trainers later on shared the knowledge learnt with another 466 trainers through a series of post-training sharing workshops conducted in Cambodia.
