Thailand

Leadership

This was a TVET leadership programme (LTP) aimed to strengthen leadership and management skills among the administrators of 12 Mekong Learning Centres, empowering them to establish and run effective TVET systems.

About the project

Project Scope: In 2014, United States Agency for International Development (USAID) initiated the Connecting the Mekong through Education and Training (COMET) project, spanning five years and targeting Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its aim was to equip educators with innovative practices to prepare youth for employment in the region.

This LTP aligned with COMET’s mission, focusing on developing leadership and management capabilities. Its goal was to enable leaders and administrators to establish and manage efficient TVET systems within the 12 Mekong Learning Centres.

The training programme included the sharing of Singapore ITE’s TVET system and processes, particularly its successful strategies and practices, and they worked together to produce effective TVET programmes that meet the needs of the industry.

Impact & Outcome: A total of 26 Administrators and their deputies from the 12 Mekong Learning Centres located in the 5 Mekong countries were trained through this LTP.

This programme was co-funded by United States Agency for International Development.
